Easter

A simple Easter for us.  No egg coloring or egg hunt.  I need to get on that next year.  Gavin helped me make a yummy dinner with ham, sweet potatoes, and the traditional deviled eggs.  We invited our friends, the VanBuskirks over to share with us.  Gavin did receive a basket full of goodies from the Easter bunny.  He was happy about that.  I love this time of year to reflect on the new growth and to celebrate out Savior's resurection 

First Quarter

Pretty much the first part of the year is doing taxes.  So my life is consumed with that.  Not a lot happening otherwise.  Gavin starts wrestling in Feb thru April, so towards the end I'm able to go see him.

Winter Wonderland

We've been having a cold winter since December began.  We've had a few snow storms which has brought us plenty of needed moisture.

  It is getting really cold at night.

Happy "white" New Year!

Christmas

We got lucky with a white Christmas.  On Christmas Eve we took Sam four wheeling in the snow.  We had yummy family dinner with everyone. Gavin opened his jammies.  On Christmas day we opened our presents.  Gavin's big one was a new tv for his room.  He was in love.  We are very blessed at what we have and can have.  We love the Savior and are thankful for him.

Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving we headed to sunny and warm California to spend with Grandpa and the Petersons. We had nice weather to play outside.  We had lots of yummy food the whole weekend.  Shane, Gavin and I met up with Eric and Stacy and their kids to have dinner and see The Blasters play at the Coach House.  It was a blast :) We enjoyed our visit and love to spend time there.

2012 Election

This year's election seemed hopeful for me and my country.  I am sad to say it didn't turn out the way I would have wanted.  And I'm a little confused.  I think I can see Satan's influence even more today.  That is the the only way I make sense of what happened this election day, economically and morally. I don't understand why people would want this great country to decline even more over the next four years.  I think about Gavin and what he has to look forward to.  I want him to have prosperity and hope to do whatever he chooses in life.  I just hope he isn't limited in his future.

Halloween

Gavin dressed up as a cowboy for Halloween. He went out with his cousins to trick or treat.  We had a ward Halloween party with lots of people.  Paul and Katie came with the kiddos.  Gavin is holding baby Asa.  He's such a cutie.  Made a few goodies during the month too, but I was trying to be good.

Football and a visit

Grandpa came out to visit us for a week. He got to see a couple of Gavin's football games.  They ended up the season with a 6-2 record.  The best so far.  They lost out in first round play offs to a team they had beaten in the regular season.  And the team that won the division lost only once during the season....to Gavin's team.  Bummer.   I had a few "daddy do" things for him to do. We had a good time just relaxing and visiting. We are always happy to have Grandpa come see us!

Birthday

My little boy turned 12 today. My how time goes by. He had a football game this morning and then he invited a few friends to come over and play around. He wanted an oreo cake and pizza for dinner. Really easy for me. He had lots of fun and scored on the presents(money). They had a xbox tournament and threw water balloons in the dark.

Fall Colors

Took a drive up to Colorado today. It was great weather(about 72) and beautiful scenery. No one wanted to go with me, but that was fine. I enjoyed the quiet time looking at fall colors

School and Football

Not a lot going on but school and football Saturdays. Gavin's team is doing well so far. They are 4-1. Kind of bummed about their loss, but they motor on. #21

Back to School

Before school started again (sniff, sniff) I took Gavin out to a back to school breakfast at IHOP to enjoy time with him. Football practice has started and so has school. 6th Grade. WOW! It seems like summer was so short. We tried to do fun stuff and relax. I hope we accomplished it!
