Science Experiment

We haven't been doing much since Christmas. Just relaxing and eating and eating. I start my annual new year's resolution in a few days. We'll see if it works this year. Gavin has been playing on the computer and with his video games. He did get a science kit from Grandpa which he thinks is very cool. He has been doing lots of experiments with it.

We had Christmas Eve at Aunt Tammy's with the family. Then the kids opened their annual Christmas jammies. Group pictureSnow day

Christmas Lights

Tonight we braved the cold and headed out with hot chocolate to look at Christmas lights. We took Sam, Morgan, and Gavin. It was an interesting ride with lots of entertainment from Sam and Gavin. This house, out by the mall, is one of the best.

No More Please

This has to be the last one. Tonight we went to church where the laurels and priest do an annual gingerbread making. One person didn't show up so Gavin was really excited to make another one. I'm totally done. He had fun again. I think he would never get tired of making gingerbread houses.

Gingerbread House

Gavin insisted we do another gingerbread house. This will be his 3rd. I hope we are done. He was very excited.

More Snow

I had to post these pictures from this morning. Especially for the Californians. Gavin was upset because school wasn't delayed. Aztec is on a delay and Durango schools are canceled today. If it keeps up look for snowman making pictures later.

Morning of Snow

This morning we woke to a blanket of snow. This picture was taken after church, so some of the snow had melted. It was really pretty to see all the white, except for sliding to church on the ice.

More Gingerbread

We did another gingerbread house at my sister's. I don't know what it is about the CA houses, but they don't stay together. The kids had fun, though.

A little tree trimming.

Gavin posing as Ed Grimley. Does anyone remember that character?

California Adventure

We went on another round at the resort. I am soooo dead. Not as young as I used to be. Gavin had a blast, which made it all worth it. We went to Disneyland in the morning to ride some rides again before heading over to CA Adventure. We hung out in the morning time by ourselves and then met up later with the fam. It wasn't very crowded so we got to go on rides many times with no lines.

Gingerbread House

Gavin and I went to San Diego to visit family there and they were making a gingebread house. It was fun and the kids got into it until the end.

Then there was an earthquake, the roof fell in, and they abandoned the house.

Disneyland

Gavin and I went to California to have fun, visit and especially go to Disneyland. They transform the park for Christmastime. It is really magical. You have to go at this time if you get the chance. We went early in the morning and then my sister's family and my dad met us there later. 14 hours and still going!
Small world is way better than in the pictures. I could stand there and stare at it for a long time.

Christmas Decorations

I love decorating for Christmas too. It brings back happy memories of growing up. I have way too much stuff for this holiday also. I need more room for us to co habitate with the decorations. My collection of snowmen. (some don't fit on there anymore)

Still Thankful

I never finished my thankful list for the month. There are soooo many things I am thankful for that it is hard to narrow down sometimes. So here is my rest of the month.

22. Nature - I took this picture one morning when I noticed the color coming thru the window. It was sunrise (which I hardly see because it happens before I get up) but was thankful on this morning to see how beautiful a sunrise can be.
23. Astronomy - This is a picture of the moon and Jupiter and Venus. I don't know how many noticed this, but it was really cool to see the planets next to the moon. My picture isn't so great because the apature stayed open too long to hold still, but it was still neat. It looks like the moon has a face.
24. Holy Ghost - I'm thankful we all have the opportunity to be baptised and receive the blessings from this. Hopefully Gavin will be thankful for this too.
25. Being a mom - I can't think of anything greater than being a mom. I'm so thankful that I could have this experience with Gavin.
26. Food - I'm thankful for all the food we are blessed to have. I like it way too much.
27. Thanksgiving - It is great to have occasions to gather as family and friends and enjoy all the experiences whether good or bad.

We have had fun this week visiting with Gavin's cousins, one of the Aunt Melissas and Grandpa. We have been walking to school to pick up Gavin and the girls love to walk the dogs.

Thankful - Part 3

16. Friends - I don't have many, but the ones I do have are the best. I'm grateful they keep in touch with me even though I am horrible at it.
17. Baptism - I have to say I am grateful for this, especially this week when Gavin will be baptized. He is so excited and I'm not sure he really knows fully what it means. What a blessing.
18. Church building - As I was sitting in church yesterday, I was thinking how we take our meeting house for granted and how special it is to go to a place to gather.
19. Winter - I think I'm thankful for all the seasons, but since winter is upon us, I have to say I love the crisp mornings when we run from the house to the warmed up car to go to school.
20. Hot cocoa and marshmellows - We had these last night when it was cool. It makes you feel warm and fuzzy to sit and drink cocoa with family.
21. Friday nights - This is the best night of the week. You can relax, stay up late, have fun and sleep in the next day

Gavin's First

Okay this is gross, but exciting for Shane and Gavin. Gavin went on a hunt this last weekend in Texas and shot his first buck. At least they took pictures on this trip.
He is showing where he shot it.

This is Gavin and his friend Sophie, who went with them.
