More Fun in Cali

We tried to have some more beach fun, but it was way cold. I was wrapped up watching the kids play in the ocean. They seemed oblivious to the cold until they got out. Later after clean up we went to the Spaghetti Factory in Newport for dinner, painted a bowl at Color Me Mine and went to see the new Toy Story movie. A long day and
we were all pooped!

Grandpa goes home!

Grandpa has become antsy being idle. He said he was ready to go home and be by himself, so we reluctently let him. He promised to take care of himself and remember his medicine. We drove him home to Idyllwild and the kids enjoyed exploring in the woods behind grandpa's house to make some weapons and climb trees. We visited and had lunch with dad and then left him alone. I think he was happy to have quiet. We will be checking on him everyday.

Outing for Grandpa

Gavin and I came to Cali to visit and help Grandpa with his recovery from heart surgery. He has been doing pretty well (better than I expected), which is great. So we took him on a walk to the end of Huntington Beach pier, to one of our favorite fun spots, Ruby's. Afterward we let the kids play in the ocean, while Grandpa was recovering from his walk.

Ahh, summer

Summer brings gardening and ducks to visit from across the street. Love it!

Scout Camp

This week Gavin and I have been at scout camp. It was really hot, but fun. The scouts got to pass off a lot of requirements, which was great. They had the life chopper from the hospital come visit. They did archery, fishing, rafting, leather making, learned about handcarts, played games of old and much more. Their theme was the Wild West Adventures. I am glad it is over and we can sit in the modern air conditioning.
