First unofficial day of summer

Gavin is so excited to be done with 2nd grade. He had a great teacher even though he says he didn't like her. I think it was because she made him listen and follow rules. I know the two and a half months of summer vacation will go by quickly, but he can't wait to get started. He already asked me today what we were going to do. I told him to use his imagination, but he didn't like that very much. He feels the need to be entertained. Oh well. It might be a long summer break.

Durango

Today we went up to Durango and rode our bikes along the river for at least 6 miles. We stopped at the fish hatchery and then had lunch. It was really nice weather while we were riding and then it poured for 15 minutes while we were eating lunch. Lucky for us. It was a great day.

Smores night

It has been pretty cold and rainy here so Gavin wanted to make some smores. We made them inside with the help of our stove. They tasted almost as good as a campfire.

Piano Recital

Not much has been happening here. My dad did come to visit this last weekend, but I didn't take any pictures, which is awful. Tonight was Gavin's piano recital. He did a really good job, I must say. He has a great teacher with lots of patience. We are proud of him.

Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's Day. I am very grateful, humbled, and excited to be a mother. I am so thankful that I was blessed with Gavin. He and Shane gave me beautiful flowers today. It was perfect. Happy Mother's Day to all!
