Wrestling season tournaments started today. No more sleeping in and relaxing for a while. Gavin went to Bloomfield this week and took 1st in his division. He was really excited and happy that his dad was there to coach him.

Wishful thinking

Is it too early for blossoms? These are apricot blossoms off our tree at our old house from last spring. I miss that tree. I'm eagerly anticipating spring.

Fun Times

Nothing exciting happening this week. I have been curled up in the fetal position and eating and oh.. eating. I'm eating for comfort. I have to remember my blessings and can't be so depressed. Yesterday I vented to my sister and then after school Gavin and I played and laughed for a couple of hours. His laugh and innocence can cure anything! This video is from our trip to Cali. It is happy memories when we were away and having fun, not dealing with reality. Can I go live at Disneyland?

I know we'll all get through these tough times. I'm grateful for what I have. I just have to complain sometimes.

Cali Trip

Gavin and I took a trip to California this past weekend. He did miss a few days of school. We went for my niece's baptism, but decided to have some more fun too. We went to California Adventure and Disneyland with the Peterson's and Grandpa. The kids had a blast and were able to go on a few favorites over and over and over again. Jenna's baptism was great. She was awesome. Later that night we took the kids to see Percy Jackson in The Lightening Thief. And on Sunday, Aunt Melissa baked her weekly cupcake recipe with the kids and we were lucky to be there. They were yummy!

Shane and Gavin went up to the mountain (Durango) to go skiing with our friends. I didn't go this time and my friend snapped this picture on her phone. I gave the camera to Shane, but nada.

Wonderful Weekend

This weekend I got to travel to Utah and witness Katie, Paul and Nora be sealed to each other at the Draper temple. It was great. We had a luncheon at the Foutz's house afterward with yummy food and got to visit with friends. I'm so happy I was able to be a part of their special day. I love their little eternal family!

Another Snow Day

Yesterday we had another snow day so Shane took Gavin, Sam , Elijah and Olivia out in the canyon for some four wheeling.  They had lots of fun, even though someone was a bit nervous.

Snowman Family

Tonight Gavin asked me for a hat and scarf so I had to go out and see what he was doing.  He had built a snowman.  After a while he was still out there and I found that he had built a snowman family.

Snow Day

Today school was cancelled because of the snow. So we headed out early with a few cousins to go sledding. It was still coming down, but fun.

Snow Delay

Last night it was snowing pretty good. Today we woke up to a snow delay at school. Gavin was very upset because school was not cancelled altogether. But he had fun.

The Big Game

Tonight was the big game with Alabama vs. Texas.  Gavin invited his cousins over to watch with him.  He was a great host.  He got out soda, water and lots of snacks to munch on. (Bama won)

New Year's Day

For a special treat Uncle Kelly shared his mom's recipe for cinnamon rolls with us.  They are the best I've ever had.

Yummy and gooey!  The best
