Cell Model

Gavin's class had to come up with an animal cell model.

He envisioned this and made it all on his own.

It is an edible model made out of cake and decorations.

I thought it was very creative.

Dog Days of Summer

Even though school has started, it still feels like summer.

There is nothing better than enjoying the evening outside and watching the sunset. Even the dogs have a great time.

Pack Meeting

Last night we went to Gavin's scout meeting where he received his Weeblo award and a few others. Lots of work for him. One more month and cub scouts is done.

A Snake

I assume from all our rain that we received yesterday that it brought some critters out. Gavin had a couple friends over and I heard them screaming, so I went outside and started screaming with them too. They were trying to catch the snake that had slithered into our garage. Granted it is very small, but did I mention I absolutely, positively hate snakes! Good thing Gavin's friend was here to catch it and take it away. Otherwise we would still be standing on a cooler in the garage waiting for help.

Rain, rain, don't go away. Come back today!

We had a wonderful rain storm,

for about 10 minutes.

I wish it would come back.

My dogs and I were watching out the window.

One is fierce and ready to attack the thunder.

The other is a chicken and climbs all over me for protection.

Football

This is the second week of football games. Last week the team did really well, Gavin scored a touchdown, but they lost. This week they were in Pagosa. This team is really good. But the Scorpions wanted it bad. It did go into overtime and they won. Gavin scored 3 touchdowns. His last one was in overtime for the win on fourth down. Below is a little clip of the game.

School

School has started. It seems summer is shorter every year. Our summer is over now that school is here. So sad. Gavin's last year in elementary school. Maybe it is just that time seems to go much faster. I want to cherish all the moments I can.

Cabin Weekend

This past week we dropped Gavin and Sam off at Grandma and Grandpa's cabin. Shane and I went to pick them up. Shane did a little fishing. We had dinner and enjoyed the scenery. The boys enjoyed spending time with the grandparents and playing outdoors.

Garage Sale

On Saturday my neighbor was having a garage sale so we brought a few big pieces over to sell

Gavin also sold chocolate chip cookies and otter pops. All proceeds to go to him.

Gavin was a little distraught to learn his video cabinet had sold.

Unbeknownst to me, he was very attached to it and had a hard time when it left.
