Snow Delay

Last night it was snowing pretty good. Today we woke up to a snow delay at school. Gavin was very upset because school was not cancelled altogether. But he had fun.

The Big Game

Tonight was the big game with Alabama vs. Texas.  Gavin invited his cousins over to watch with him.  He was a great host.  He got out soda, water and lots of snacks to munch on. (Bama won)

New Year's Day

For a special treat Uncle Kelly shared his mom's recipe for cinnamon rolls with us.  They are the best I've ever had.

Yummy and gooey!  The best

New Years

Gavin and I were in CA for New Year's.  It has been a long time since we have stayed up to welcome in the New Year.  Here is to a better year.  We played games and ate until midnight.

Welcoming in with a little bubbly. (sparkling cider)

10 Things That Happened This Year

Ten things we did this year. Some good and some bad

1. Lost job due to layoff
2. Became a great aunt
3. Sold a house
4. Bought a house
5. Turned the big 40
6. Watched Gavin grow
7. One nephew returned home from a mission and one left for his mission
8. Went to "This is the Place" in Utah
9. Made our own candles
10. Lost a sister

We hope all of you have a great New Year and hope things are better than in 2009. We had great experiences and not so great that we will always remember. And people we will never forget that touched our life in so many ways.

Extended Christmas

After Christmas, Gavin and I were able to go to California to visit family there. We saved the presents for eachother until after Christmas, so the kids could open them together. Just extending the joy.

We always eat at our favorite places when we visit, (even though I gain 10 pounds everytime I come).

Christmas

Christmas Eve we got together with the family and had a Christmas dinner at Aunt Tammy's house. Christmas morning Shane and I waited until 8 for Gavin to wake up and then we opened presents. Gavin got an Ipod touch and some video games. He said it was the best Christmas ever. Which I believe he says each year.
The dogs got a stocking too!

Football

Gavin and Shane took a road trip to Las Vegas for the BYU vs. Oregon St football game. They had yucky roads on the way and ran into a few blizzards on the way back, but are home safe. They said it was freezing and a lot of fans left early because of the weather. Even with frozen body parts they had a blast.

10 More Pounds

Tis the season to eat. Gavin and I made sugar cookies yesterday and I tried to give them away so I wouldn't eat so many. But I did anyway. I think this month I will have gained at least 10 more pounds. Just waiting for January so I can start my new year resolution....again.

Saturday fun

Today we went to the museum with the Larson's to make some candles. It was pretty fun, I thought, but a little unorganized. They got to start from the beginning and see how they are formed.

On the way home we stopped at the park that is called "Fantasy of Lights" and drove around to check out all the lights.

Tonight Gavin made a gingerbread house and tree. He was very creative with both and had lots of fun.

Luminarias

Tonight we bundled up and went out with the Larson's to the college to walk around and look at the luminarias they have set up. The Red Cross was serving yummy hot chocolate. It was cold, but very beautiful.

I couldn't hold the camera still enough for it not to be blurry, but you can get the jist.
