A Sad Day

Since we are moving and cannot take our playset with us, we gave it to our neighbors.  It was a sad day because Gavin has been playing on it for 7 years. Our friends, the Foutz's, had donated it to us way back when. Now when I look out the window in the backyard there is something missing. Oh well.  On to bigger and better things, I guess.

Fair Time

Gavin and I went to the fair today.  It was an unlimited ride for one price night, but somehow I spent a lot of money.  We did have fun.  Gavin rode some rides that he wouldn't have last year so he is getting braver.

Family visit

This past week we have had fun with my sister, nieces and dad coming to visit.  We first met up with them at my Aunt's house in Vernon, AZ to have some fun.  Then they followed us back home to relax, play and shop (the adults).  It was great to have them be able to come visit and see the four corners.  It is really sad that there are only 2 weeks left of summer vacation.

We took a great horseback riding trip north of Durango that was amazing.

Beach and Zoo

Yesterday was another beach day at Newport and today we went to the Los Angles Zoo. It was quite hot today, but we survived by spraying each other with water bottles and finding shade when possible. It was cool to see all the animals. We stopped on our way home at our favorite burger joint, In N Out. Yay!

Huntington Beach

Today we went down to the beach and ate at Ruby's at the end of the pier. Then played on the beach for a few hours. It was nice weather and very fun to play in the water.

Cali visit

On Monday, we went to the Jurassic store with Aunt Melissa, Heather, Jenna, and Grandpa to check out the reptiles. Not my favorite place. Gavin was very brave and held a python, scorpion,a small turtle that grows to be huge, and a bearded dragon.

Monday night we took the kids to Medieval Times. It is a dinner and a show place. They serve you in a tournament seating area, serve food with no utensils, and put on a show with knights assigned to your section by colors. We had a blue knight. The kids loved it.

Scottsdale

On our travels to California, we stopped in Scottsdale for the weekend with Shane and had a nice relaxing weekend, free of stress and troubles if only for a few hours.

Pre - 4th of July

Tonight Gavin and Sam took some fireworks outside to light off. Being boys, they can not wait for the 4th. Hopefully the house will not burn down before then.

Scout Camp

This week was Gavin's first Scout Camp. We are finally done. Hallelujah!! He did have lots of fun and passed off a lot of things, but we are glad to be done. He was glad he got to be with his cousin, Ethan during lunch time.

Our Utah Trip

Gavin and I went to Utah with one of his Aunt Melissa's and his cousins. We went to "This is the Place" which I have to say Gavin was not looking forward to. But once he was there he said this was the "coolest thing ever". I'm glad he changed his mind. It was great. The kids learned how to make ropes, learned about the medicine of old, met Brigham Young, visited with the animals, and learned more about the pioneers. We did a little shopping damage too. I blew my budget big time.

On the way home, we stopped at both holes in the rock, took a tour, and climbed to the top.

The best part for me was visiting the The Sweet Tooth Fairy store in Provo. We stopped there on the way up and home to get very yummy cupcakes. Love it!!!
